Orange & Almond Biscuits

Refreshing orange flavoured biscuits with almonds which are heavenly delicious and unbelievably easy to prepare. Try them once, you will definitely want to make them again!

  1. 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  2. 1/2 cup rolled oats
  3. 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon orange zest
  5. 2 tablespoons orange juice
  6. 3 tablespoons oil
  7. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  9. 1 tablespoon sliced almonds
  10. 1 round cookie cutter


  1. Grind the rolled oats in a coffee grinder.
  2. Sieve together the self-raising flour, ground oats, caster sugar and baking powder. Add the orange zest & sliced almonds to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Combine oil, orange juice and vanilla essence in a bowl. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and mix together until you form a dough.
  4. Roll this dough into a thick chapati. Cut into round shape using a cookie cutter .
  5. Preheat the oven to 170C (160C fan assisted).
  6. Place the biscuits in a greased baking tray .
  7. Place the tray into the preheated oven at 170C (160C fan assisted). Bake for 10-15 minutes or till they turn golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool down completely before transferring them to an air-tight container. The biscuits will become more crunchy on cooling down.
  9. Serve with tea or coffee.
