Homemade Bread Loaf

Super-easy homemade bread prepared using wholewheat and plain flour. Trust me, if you try it once; you will definitely bake it again!

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup wholewheat flour
  2. 1 cup plain flour
  3. 1/2 cup yogurt
  4. 1/4 cup milk
  5. 1/4 cup oil
  6. 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  7. 1 teaspoon sugar
  8. 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Take 1/4 cup luke warm water in a bowl. Add the yeast and sugar to it and mix gently. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes or till you see froth on the top.
  2. Take the wholewheat and plain flour in a large bowl. Add the salt. Mix well.
  3. Make a well in the centre and add the wet ingredients - oil, yogurt, milk and yeast mixture.
  4. Mix all the ingredients well and then knead them into a very soft dough.
  5. Keep this dough in a large bowl greased with oil and cover it. Place this bowl at a warm place for about 2 hours or till the dough doubles in size.
  6. After the dough has risen and become almost double, punch it with your fists, knead it again for 2-3 minutes and transfer it to a loaf tin. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on the top.
  7. Let it rest for 30 minutes
  8. After 30 minutes, put the loaf tin in the oven and bake at 180degrees for 30 minutes.
  9. Apply little butter on the top as soon as you take the bread out of the oven.
  10. Let it cool completely before cutting it into slices.

Note:

The bread can be stored in an air-tight container for 2-3 days. Please make sure it has cooled completely before storing it.
